WHAT WAS BEFORE?

There was no truth

Not even the untruth

There was no space

Not even the sky

What was hidden?

Where it was hidden?

What had enveloped all?

There were not even the mighty waters

Who is the doer of creation?

That doer is un-doer

He lives in high skies

Always presiding over all

Whether He knows all

Or He knows not

Nobody knows this

When I was in school, I think in 7th or 8th standard, there was a serial on national television channel Delhi Doordarshan (DD). This serial ‘Discovery of India' was based on book of same name ‘Discovery of India' written by first Indian Prime Minister Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru. It was quite interesting. History of India till 1000 A.D. is fantastic. The words at the beginning of this writing ‘There was no truth...' were casting verses of this serial. These verses were recited in Hindi language, which were in turn translated from some Vedic source in Sanskrit language. The English translation here may not sound poetic but the idea enthralls. The mystery of creation has always remained unsolved. Why we were created, why we are here? Questions are numerous, answers are more numerous and most of answers satisfy but none tells the exact cause.
